PLAYER OF THE WEEKPaul Jaglowski, Western Branch High08:07 PM EDT on Tuesday, April 29, 2008Four of ten won’t get you far in basketball. In football, folks would say your struggling if you’re a quarterback. In the case of a baseball player like Western Branch second baseman, Paul Jaglowski, you’re flourishing. The Bruins are as of this writing unbeaten and in a senior heavy team, the guy they call “Jags” is the one they look to. He hasn’t let up since hitting .480 last season. “Coming back from that good season”, he says. “I try to play well everyday and do whatever I can.” Teammate, Chad O’Connor feels good to have someone like Jaglowski on his side. “He has the perfect eye at the plate. He puts a lot of pressure on the defense and makes it easier for us.” Jaglowski is one of four Bruin players currently hitting over .400, which can only cause nightmares for opponents. Head Coach, Roland Wright, however, puts things in perspective when it comes to their current season. “We’ve got a long ways to go. We haven’t done anything yet.” Having someone like Jags on your side makes for a shorter distance to your destiny. |
