This wasn't quite the senior year Erickson Keeton had pictured for himself as a Nansemond River baseball player. 

Leading a very young Warriors squad, Keeton was one of the few bright spots for a team that went down during the Southeastern district playoffs.  He's found the game humbling at times. 

"Some games you can do everything right, then the next game do everything wrong", he says. 

Keeton, who's an all-southeastern district pick this past season, is headed to Virginia Military Institute.

Having mainly played the outfield, Keeton filled in at third base at times, which only made him more versatile as a player. 

"It's helped me learn all parts of the game", he says.  His coach, Mark Stuffel gives him a ringing endorsement. 

"He's our leader", he says.  "He makes plays.  The one guy that's been playing solid." 

If ever there was a player that led by example, it would be Keeton.
