This week’s special honor goes to Poquoson quarterback Eric Nixon.  

The senior signal caller used his legs as well as his arm. Nixon ran for three touchdowns in the Islanders' 47-10 win over York High School. 

Add to that 234 yards passing and one touchdown through the air and you have the makings of our Athlete of the Week.  

Nixon also threw for three touchdowns the week before in Poquoson’s dramatic come from behind win over Smithfield.

He leads all quarterbacks in the Bay Rivers District in passing touchdowns. He has also directed the Islanders into playoffs contention in Division 3 with their 4-3 record.
