PLAYER OF THE WEEKCasey Turner, Great Brdige03:33 PM EDT on Tuesday, October 23, 2007Can a player be named Athlete of the Week when his team is coming off a loss? Great Bridge quarterback, Casey Turner proves you can. Turner rallied the Wildcats from a three touchdown deficit, but came up short against Western Branch losing a heartbreaker 42-40. The senior signal caller’s numbers were jaw-dropping. How about 23 of 46 for a career high 462 yards and 5 touchdowns! Turner showed some incredible resilency, because he had three first half interceptions. Great Bridge could easily be 7 and 1 right now, but unfortunately have a very respectable 6-2 overall mark, 5-2 in the unforgiving Southeastern District. Turner and the Wildcats need to have amnesia fast, because next on the schedule a date with 5-3 King’s Fork. |
