They had three starters returning, but were picked 7th in the pre-season in boys soccer. The Princess Anne Cavaliers have defied the odds this season and found themselves in the thick of things in the Beach District. Head Coach, B.K. Brinkley has had the Cavs do an about face; going 6-6-4 last year to a current mark of 14-2-1. He says he saw it coming. “It’s just a matter of time”, he says. “We had a young team last year, a lot of kids with club experience.” In a district that has traditionally been dominated by Cox over the years, the Cavs served notice early in the year with they weren’t going to be picked on anymore by beating the Falcons for the first time in school history. Brinkley, who’s in his 4th season at Princess Anne, knows he’s got a special squad. “Teams like this don’t come along very often.” Brinkley hopes the ride doesn’t end just yet.
