Superintendent Michael Hinojosa today announced results of an internal review of the South Oak Cliff championship run. Hinojosa declined to name the player.
WFAA television first raised questions on whether a student was passing his course work or even showing up for class.
The University Interscholastic League has been notified of the South Oak Cliff violations.
A UIL spokeswoman says using an academically ineligible player violates the state's no-pass, no-play law.
Fort Worth Dunbar, the team South Oak Cliff defeated 76-58 in the title game, will be recognized as the state champion.
In March, South Oak Cliff became the first school in 27 years to win three straight championships in boys basketball. |
