Franklin's Austin Klores today won a fourth straight boys singles title in the University Interscholastic League state Class 2A tennis championship.

Klores defeated Hunter Lloyd of Tuscola Jim Ned 6-2, 6-4 in Austin.

Klores became the fourth boys tennis player ever to win titles in four years of competition.

The last was Colter Williams of Rotan in 2001-2004.

Ben Spencer and Julian Bexley defeated the Big Lake Reagan County duo of Brit Campbell and Joe Hernandez in the finals 6-3, 6-1.

They advanced to the championship by beating Kevin Smith and Kody Smith of Floydada, 6-3, 7-5 in the morning semifinals.

Klores teammates Kendra Casey and Jake Russ won their second straight mixed doubles title beating Bryce and Shayla Estes of Mason 7-6 (6), 4-6, 7-5.

Heather Steinbauer of Conroe Woodlands College Park defeated Ariel Morton of Klein 6-0, 6-0 to win the Class 5A girls singles title.

Bryan Welnetz of Laredo United defeated Carson Kadi of Coppell 7-6 (3), 6-0 won the 5A boys title.
