PEORIA - Triple-sport athlete Joshua Daniel Day is the latest winner of a M & I Bank Skylights Scholar Award.

He hopes to attend with Embry-Riddle Aeronautic University or MIT.

He is captain on his cross country and track teams, leader of his youth group and senior patrol leader of his scout group.

Day has been a boy scout for almost six years.

He has been involved with National Honor’s Society for five years and been a part of Student Council for 3 years.

Day’s favorite academic class is math because numbers come easy to him and he likes the fact that numbers are constant.

“He has a tremendous work ethic, a determination to do the right thing and an extreme competitiveness,” said Day’s cross country coach Doug Beaumont.

Day hope sports will remain an important part of his life.
