Desert Mountain High School swimmer Angela Duckworth won a big award in New York City this weekend.

Duckworth was one of two winners from more than 32,000 nominees to win the Wendy’s High School Heisman Award. She was awarded a trophy and a $10,000 donation to her school.

Duckworth just wrapped up her high school season and signed a letter of intent to swim for Stanford next year. She’s also preparing for the 2008 Olympic Trials in Omaha, Nebraska.
