CHANDLER - One of the biggest days for a high school athlete is National Signing Day. This morning about 25 Valley football players and their families gathered to announce and celebrate their college choice.

Majerle’s restaurant hosted the parents, coaches, players and media for the announcements.

Many of the athletes chose to stay close to home, signing with Arizona State University, the University of Arizona or another Pac-10 school.

Arizona State signed top recruits from the state today.

Today was the first day of the signing period, but many football players who have not made up their mind will continue to mull over their decision before signing with their college of choice.

The following is a list of some of the top rated Arizona recruits, according to Rivals.com, and the schools they signed with earlier today.
