WAXHAW, NC -- Billed as the most talented High School Basketball Tournament in the United States, the 8th Annual Bojangles' High School Basketball Shootout benefiting Athletes United for Youth (Formally Dell Curry Charity for Youth) kicked off Thursday and is scheduled to run through Saturday, Dec. 29 at its new location, the brand new and basketball friendly confines of Marvin Ridge High School , located at 2825 Crane Road, Waxhaw.

This year's spectacular high school hoops showcase will again feature both boys and girls teams from across the nation, as well as the best of the best from the local Charlotte community. Several boys and girls teams and players ranked among the top players in the nation within their class will be featured in this year's tournament.

In all, 24 teams will participate in what has been tabbed as one of the top 5 Ranked High School Basketball Tournaments in the nation. We are extremely excited about the teams, and hope that you too will be excited and want to attend.

On Thursday night, Victory Christian beat West Charlotte, 84-59.  In other action Charlotte Latin downed Hopewell 71-60 and Charlotte Christian posted a close 83-82 win over Garinger thanks to a 35 point effort from Carson Sullivan.
