Corey Borner, paralyzed from the neck down, has regained some feeling. He can raise his arms and says he's confident he'll walk again.

Well-wishers visited and called Corey Borner on Wednesday as word spread about the 16-year-old's return to his family's DeSoto home from the Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation. Borner was paralyzed May 6 when he collided with a teammate at football practice.

Stanford Hill guided Roosevelt to the Class 3A state title in 2006.

Roosevelt's Stanford Hill said Wednesday that he has been hired as the new Skyline boys basketball coach. Hill is replacing J.D. Mayo, who had been one of the longest-tenured coaches in the state before he was informed in late March that he wouldn't return as the school's head coach.

Kevin Fritts had three goals and an assist as Highland Park's won the state championship.

Highland Park attacker Kevin Fritts and Hockaday midfielder Taylor Thornton are the HS GameTime boys and girls players of the year, respectively. Fritts broke his own season school record with 66 points (45 goals, 21 assists). Thornton finished with 79 goals, 23 assists and 52 groundballs.
