Frisco boys: Streak of three straight 4A titles ended with third-place finish behind champion Richardson Pearce in 2007.

Highland Park: Seeking eighth straight 4A title, which would match the longest streak since the UIL started record-keeping in 1910 (Booker won Class A girls golf titles from 1986 to 1993). Highland Park has qualified 11 individuals and all three relays.

Plano: Well-positioned to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of its last 5A state title after finishing fourth last year.

Area individuals who will defend state titles:

Colin Nix, Frisco, Sr. (50 freestyle): Don't rule out a state sprint double, since he has 4A's best 100 freestyle regional time.

Matt Thompson, Jesuit, Jr. (100 backstroke): Coming off a state-record time (47.79) at the 5A Region II meet and has top qualifying time in the 200 IM after finishing runner-up last year.

Allison Arnold, Highland Park, So. (200, 500 freestyle): Won two individual events as a freshman.

Gwen Blythe, Colleyville Heritage, Sr. (100 breaststroke): Runner-up in the 100 breaststroke as a sophomore, third as a freshman.

Genny Konicke, Plano, Sr. (50 freestyle): SportsDay's reigning Girls Swimmer of the Year just missed two state medals after finishing fourth in the 100 freestyle.
