Ryan Bills, Allen, Jr.
At state: Fifth in 5A 200 IM (1:53.99). About Bills: When he missed qualifying for state by .02 seconds last year, it motivated him to work even harder. Did you know? Made Eagle Scout in December and remains active in scouting.
Jack Dwyer, Flower Mound, Sr.
At state: Third in 5A 100 freestyle (46.15), fourth in 50 freestyle (20.95). About Dwyer: Signed with Missouri after considering South Carolina, Indiana and Centenary. Did you know? He has an amateur boxing record of 8-0.
Alex Fincher, Keller, Fr.
At state: Fifth in 5A diving (397.85). About Fincher: His five-year diving career began on a backyard trampoline when his parents convinced him to exploit his talent. Did you know? He memorizes things he reads or watches. As a fourth-grader, he memorized an entire episode of The Simpsons.
Barrett Mark, Frisco, Jr.
At state: Won 4A 200 IM (1:55.25), runner-up in 500 freestyle (4:35.93). About Mark: He competed in the consolation finals at the Florida state meet in 2007 before moving to Texas. Did you know? He misses not being able to surf, one of his favorite activities.
Brendan McIntee, Plano West, Jr.
At state: Seventh in 5A 200 freestyle (1:41.98), seventh in 500 freestyle (4:40.63). About McIntee: This was his third trip to state. He took sixth last year in the 500 freestyle. Did you know? He is part of a group that ranks No. 1 in the world for the song "Say It Ain't So" by Weezer on the video game Rock Band.
Max Murphy, Flower Mound, Sr.
At state: Runner-up in 5A 100 backstroke (49.01), fifth in 100 butterfly (50.42). About Murphy: Auburn signee (over USC and Texas) earned eight medals in four trips to state meet. Did you know? He can hold his breath for over three minutes.
Steven Nelms, Plano Sr.
At state: Runner-up in 5A 50 freestyle (20.32), runner-up in 100 butterfly (49.53). About Nelms: The UNLV signee will follow an older brother who also swam for UNLV. Did you know? For the second straight year, he is in charge of putting together a video for the team banquet.
Colin Nix, Frisco, Sr.
At state: Won 4A 100 freestyle (47.12), runner-up in 50 freestyle (21.33). About Nix: Plans to attend Texas Tech only as a student and choose between pre-med and mechanical engineering. Did you know? He never swam on a club team.
Wil Singley, Southlake Carroll, Sr.
At state: Won 5A 500 freestyle (4:25.95), runner-up in 200 freestyle (1:39.17). About Singley: North Carolina signee medaled every year at state. Did you know? Earns spending money as a DJ at local parties and school functions.
Caleb Veazey, Bryan Adams, Jr.
At state: Third in 5A 500 freestyle (4:33.74). About Veazey: He attends Booker T. Washington School for the Performing and Visual Arts, which does not offer athletics. Did you know? Plays in a funk/jazz band, The Baby Cockroaches. NEWCOMER OF THE YEAR
Kyle McIntee, Plano West, Fr.
At state: Fifth in 5A 500 freestyle (4:38.03). About McIntee: Became a distance swimmer three years ago, shortly after moving to Texas from Connecticut. Did you know? He made the Plano West bowling team this year but had to give it up because of swimming obligations.

About Eubanks: His third 4A boys state title in a four-year span was the tightest, a three-point margin over Austin LBJ. Did you know? He had a pacemaker implanted in 1992. RELAY TEAM OF THE YEAR
