What she did: Led Lancaster (23-5) to two district wins by scoring 29 points in a 57-48 win over Ennis and 27 in a 92-67 win over Corsicana.

The stats: She averaged 28 points, 5.5 rebounds, five assists and three steals and made 10 of 11 free throws in the two games.

Who is she? The 5-4 point guard is a four-year starter.

She said it: "I think I was in a zone. It seemed like every time I got the ball I made something happen by getting my teammates involved, scoring or getting to the free throw line."

Coach said it: "I think she's one of the best guards in the area. She's a smart player. She fills the leadership role, can take over a game or get her teammates involved. She's very skilled." – Beverly Lockett

Did you know? Jenkins was diagnosed with cancer (Hodgkin's disease) late in her freshman year. She has been cancer-free for two years and in remission for the last 2 ½ months. She was recently granted her wish by The Make-A-Wish Foundation to attend the NBA All-Star weekend in New Orleans on Feb. 14-17 and is hoping the Mavs' Josh Howard will play in the game. ... She also runs the 1,600 and 3,200 meters for Lancaster's track team. ... She hopes to play college basketball and plans to major in criminal justice.
