He highlighted the week with a 42-point, 22-rebound, three-block performance Friday against Ovilla Christian. The stats: Davis averaged 33.5 points, 19 rebounds, four steals and two blocks. Davis also made 4 of 6 from the 3-point line for the week. Who is he? Davis, 17, is a 6-8, 215-pound forward/center He said it: "I worked really hard this summer with Coach B [Jeremy Bjornstad] and my skills coaches, Rob Hawkins and Elton Drake. They've really taught me a lot of things that's helped me create open shots and get to the basket more." Coach said it: "We have another good player, Matt Allbritton (averaged 23.5 points, 11 rebounds last week). Some teams are choosing to try and shut Matt down and play Andrew 1-on-1 in the post. I like those odds." –Jeremy Bjornstad Did you know? Davis, a Richardson resident, has attended Garland Christian since middle school. ... He has received scholarship offers from Air Force and West Point and also is getting looks from North Texas, Evansville, Furman and Southern Arkansas. ... The night before every game, Davis eats three peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Davis is a big fan of Dwight Howard. "I love the way he rebounds," he said.
