Hall, the third seed, defeated top seed Marcus McGraw of Arlington Bowie, 9-6, in the 215-pound Region II final Saturday. He will be making his first trip to the UIL state tournament Feb. 22-23 in Austin. A year ago, Hall was a state alternate after McGraw beat him in close match at the Region II meet. They hadn't met again until Saturday. Who is he? He's a 6-1, 215-pound senior. He is the first Molina boys wrestler to win a regional title. He said it: "Nobody expected me to do this. They didn't even pick me to be on the top four. I wanted to go out there and prove those people wrong." Coach said it: "We've been waiting a whole year for this. It couldn't come at a better time." – Kelly Walker Did you know? He almost didn't get to wrestle in the regionals because he arrived 40 seconds late to the weigh-ins. ... Hall, an all-district linebacker and all-state honorable mention, thought he was having a rough week after not signing a letter of intent for football. But he hopes wrestling at state will open college doors. ... He plans to earn a degree in computer graphics and buy a house for his mom. ...
