In the three games, Baker allowed only four hits and struck out 29 in 15 innings. At the plate, she went 9-for-12 with a double, a triple, a home run and five RBIs to help Poteet (20-3, 4-0 District 10-4A) extend its winning streak to 12 games. The stats: Baker is 16-2 with a 1.01 ERA and 144 strikeouts in 97 innings. She is hitting .492 with eight doubles, two triples, one home run and 20 RBIs for the state's seventh-ranked 4A team. Who is she? Baker is a junior pitcher. She was the District 10-4A pitcher of the year last season. She said it: "[The perfect game] was exciting. Those are always fun." Coach said it: "She's pitching really well. She has kind of stepped up into more of a leadership role this year, and she has done a good job keeping batters off balance. ...
