Alexis Cantu

What she did: Cantu was 2-for-2 and drove in all five of her team's runs to lead Wakeland to a 5-0 win over Wills Point, the state's seventh- ranked 3A team, in the one-game Region III quarterfinals. Cantu hit a three-run home run in the third inning and a two-run double in the fifth. She also pitched seven scoreless innings with five strikeouts for the win.

The stats: She is hitting .466 (27-58) with eight doubles, three triples, two home runs and 20 RBIs. Her slugging percentage is .732. She also is 20-6 with a 1.97 ERA and 245 strikeouts.
