What she did: Lyles pitched a three-hit shutout and a two-hit shutout as Keller, the state's sixth-ranked Class 5A team, twice beat Plano West, 1-0, to sweep an area-round series. Lyles struck out 14 in 14 innings as Keller (33-3-1) advanced to the regional quarterfinals.

The stats: Lyles is 27-1-1 with a 0.30 ERA and 21 shutouts. She has 296 strikeouts in 188 innings. In the playoffs, she is 4-0. In 28 scoreless innings, she has struck out 31 and given up only seven hits.

Who is she? A senior pitcher who has signed to play softball for UT-Arlington.
