The stats: Scharf earned a complete-game victory over Bryan Adams earlier in the regional quarterfinals. He's 8-4 overall and has allowed just three runs in three playoff appearances. Who is he: A 6-1, 170-pound senior pitcher. He said it: "They look pretty good. We're going to have to play another defensive battle and throw strikes." Scharf on Texarkana Texas, McKinney North's next opponent Coach said it: "We saw where [Hallsville] had some trouble with a sidearm guy in another series. He's got a different arm slot. He's just a different type guy that you haven't seen a lot of." Jim Gatewood Did you know? Scharf used a conventional delivery until two years ago when his coaches asked him to try a submarine motion, and he developed into one of the team's top pitchers.
