Alves turned 16 Sunday. ...He plays center field and pitcher for the Boyd baseball team. ...He moved to Texas from Modesto, Calif., as a sixth grader. ...His older sister, Dominique, recently graduated from McKinney, and his younger brother, Nick, is 2-years-old. Alves said he's teaching his baby brother some football moves. "I'm trying to, but he's still in that stage where he loves the band."
