Key stats: Rushed for 1,768 yards and 29 TDs. Was the area's 5A scoring leader with 200 points.

About Burkhead: Blended power and big plays to lead Plano to a 13-2 season. In the playoffs vs. Skyline, he had TDs rushing, passing and returning a punt.

Did you know? Burkhead, nicknamed "Superman," was a freshman on Plano's 2006 state champion basketball team.

JONATHON MILLER: GARLAND NAAMAN FOREST, JR.

Key stats: Rushed for 1,984 yards and 25 TDs. Averaged 7.8 yards a carry.

About Miller: Miller was the area's 5A regular-season rushing leader. He was the centerpiece of Naaman Forest's 9-3 season.

Key stats: 53 receptions for 1,012 yards (19.1 yards per catch) and 17 TDs.

About Buckner: His size and speed made him a threat to score on any play.

Did you know? Buckner used to play video game tournaments for prize money and considered making it his profession. He gave up video games to concentrate on football.

SETH GARDNER: HIGHLAND PARK, SR.

Position: Wide receiver

Key stats: Caught 73 passes for 1,491 yards and 21 TDs. Averaged 20.4 yards per catch.

About Gardner: He was Highland Park's top deep threat during its run to the state final. He led area 4A receivers in yardage and touchdowns.

JORDAN GUSH: RICHARDSON PEARCE, SR.

Key stats: Caught 93 passes for 1,186 yards and 12 TDs.

About Gush: His 93 catches were the most of any area 4A or 5A receiver. His catches and kick returns sparked Pearce's first trip to the playoffs in four years.

About Anderson: The two-year starter at left tackle was a key to one of the area's top offensive lines. Committed to Tulsa.

Did you know? Anderson has won money fishing in bass tournaments. His biggest catch was a nine-pounder that earned him $300.

JOSH AYERS: EULESS TRINITY, SR.

Position: Lineman

Height, weight: 6-5, 280

Key stats: Recorded 184 knockdown blocks and 62 pancake blocks and graded 93 percent for the season

About Ayers: The Texas A&M recruit was an integral part of a dominant line that led Trinity to the 5A Division I state title.

BEN HABERN: ARGYLE LIBERTY CHRISTIAN, SR.

Position: Lineman

Key stats: 132 pancake blocks.

About Habern: The Oklahoma recruit played offensive guard and defensive tackle in helping Liberty to the TAPPS Division II state title.

JAKE JACKSON: SOUTHLAKE CARROLL, SR.

Key stats: Graded 98 percent and recorded 62 pancake blocks.

About Jackson: The Baylor recruit did not allow a sack while playing guard and tackle.

Did you know? Jackson did not play football until seventh grade. Before that, he played hockey; he lived in Canada for 2 ½ years.

BLAKE McJUNKIN: PLANO, SR.

Position: Lineman

Height, weight: 6-3, 230

Key stats: McJunkin received Plano's top blocking grade all season and never had a bad snap at center. He also handled all deep snaps.

About McJunkin: McJunkin's play in the middle of Plano's line paved running lanes for RB Rex Burkhead and protected QB Carson Meger.

VINCENT McNEIL JR.: ROOSEVELT, SR.
