PLANO – Plano boys basketball coach Tom Inman said he is suspended for tonight's game at Richardson.

Inman declined further comment.

Plano athletic director Gerald Brence also declined to comment, saying that it was a personnel issue.

Jim and Tammy Jeffcoat, parents of Plano West basketball player Jackson Jeffcoat, said they met with Brence and Inman earlier this week to discuss inappropriate language they said the coach used during the game between Plano and Plano West on Jan. 8.

The Jeffcoats asked Brence for a three-game suspension.

"It was a positive meeting," Jim Jeffcoat said. "He [Inman] handled it well. He apologized for what he did off the court.

"Just to target one child out and to use profane language, that bothered me. I felt that's not appropriate at any level, but especially at the high school level."
