What she did: Pille went 3-0 and pitched three shutouts. In 18 innings, she allowed three hits, one walk and struck out 38. She pitched a two-hitter against Highland Park, a no-hitter against Carrollton Newman Smith and a one-hitter against Carrollton R.L. Turner.

The stats: Pille is 21-9 with a 1.06 ERA and 330 strikeouts in 158 innings. Pille helped Royse City finish third in District 10-4A and qualify for the playoffs.

Who is she? A sophomore pitcher. She was named the District 10-3A newcomer of the year last season.

She said it: "I got a new pitching coach, and I've been working hard with him. I've been mixing it up and working with a lot of off-speed" pitches.

Coach said it: "Last year when we were in 3A, she started every game and was one of the top pitchers in the state as a freshman in 3A. She led us all the way to the regional semifinals. She has handled the 4A level very well and has just gotten better. She has great work habits." – James Bain
