Entering this week's state golf and track and field championships, Carroll leads with 101.5 points. Plano West, which snapped Carroll's six-year winning streak last year, is second with 81.5 followed by Flower Mound Marcus with 80.5. Plano West could close in on Carroll as its unbeaten baseball team and strong golf squads seek state titles. Highland Park, which has won five straight times, leads 4A with 98.83 points. McKinney Boyd is second with 83 and Richardson Pearce third with 75. The point total are based on 12 team sports that have been completed. Six other sports – boys and girls golf; boys and girls track and field; baseball and softball – are still in season.
