Madison senior Greg Jordan was the lone competitor in 3A to run under 39 seconds at the regional level with a time of 38.54. Bellville's Clayton Chaney, the defending 3A champion, is seeded third at 39.20.

Crosby's Chance Casey established himself early as the runner to beat and has the fastest seed time in 4A at 37.05 – which is .83 seconds ahead of Cedar Park Vista Ridge junior Andre Sanders. Casey was third last season at state.

Lancaster's Tyler Stephenson is seeded third (38.08) in 4A, and teammate Christopher Nugent is sixth (38.65).

Lewisville senior Brandon Tucker has a season-best 37.41 and is seeded third after a 37.59 at the 5A Region I meet. Duncanville's Kennedy Daugherty ran his season-best at the 5A Region II meet. His time of 37.96 is No. 5 in the field.
