Before the 4A Region II meet, the fastest time Woodrow Wilson's Kelvin Furlough had posted this season was 49.54. He bettered that mark by nearly two seconds in the regional final at 47.69 and is seeded No. 1.

Rockwall-Heath's Travis Cunningham ran under 48 seconds for the first time this season at the same meet and is seeded second at 47.87.

Rowlett junior Kyle Clemons, a transfer from Jonesboro, Ark., who is in his first full year of track, is seeded fourth in 5A (47.96). Mansfield Timberview's Ashton Young is just ahead of him with a seed time of 47.72.

Argyle's Garrett Hughey got under 49 seconds in early April and hasn't looked back. He is seeded first in 3A at 48.13. Madison's Nathaniel Sowels, the 3A Region II champion, is seeded second (48.85).
