The junior won the discus at the Oklahoma Invitational with a throw of 189 feet, 5 inches, breaking the school record for the third time this season. She also finished second in the shot put (50-10 ¼ ). Carter has the top discus mark in NCAA Division I this season by more than two feet. She finished fifth in the discus (174-5) at the 2007 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
