Mansfield Timberview's LaKeidra Stewart and Richanda Hall enter state seeded first and second in 5A. At the Region I meet, Stewart ran an 11.44. That was her best time of the season, and it ranked No. 2 in the state and No. 3 in the nation. Hall ran an 11.89. She was sixth at state last year.

Fort Worth Dunbar's Victoria Jordan owns the No. 1 time in the state and No. 2 time in the country at 11.43. In 4A, Jordan (11.89) is seeded second behind Houston Wheatley's Dominique Duncan (11.79), the 2007 runner-up.

Forney's Chandrell Stephens and Denton Guyer's Brittany Shorter are seeded fourth and sixth in 4A. Shorter, a Stephen F. Austin signee, finished fifth at state last season.

Defending 3A state champion Jasmin Mullings of Madison is seeded No. 2 (12.31) behind Prosper's Kim Castleberry (12.14), who finished fourth in 2007.
