TOP STORIES2-minute drill with Arlington Martin's Jeremi Mathis01:36 AM CDT on Friday, September 21, 2007Arlington Martin running back You've rushed for seven touchdowns and your team is 2-0. It's got to be the new uniforms. You guys look like the Oakland Raiders with all that silver and black. I love it. It was about time for a change. I hear your nickname on the team is "The Pounder." How did you get that name? (Laughing) A lot of running backs are quick and fast and go to the outside. I'd rather just go up the middle and bring it like that. I thought it might be because you like to eat Quarter Pounders. I work at McDonald's. That's why they came up with it. I've worked there almost a year now. What do you do at McDonald's? I do just about everything, actually. My favorite thing, I would say, is working the cash register. And your least favorite? I would say taking the back booth, doing the headset on the drive-thru. Some people come through with not-so-good attitudes, and it's kind of frustrating. I'm sure you're also frustrated by the people who get to the front of the line and then make you wait while they read the menu. McDonald's menu hasn't changed in 30 years, give or take a McRib. I know, that's what I'm saying! They know what's on it, it hasn't changed! I bet you get first dibs on the Happy Meal toys. Yeah, we used to take them, but then they put up a sign saying, "All employees can no longer take Happy Meal toys." That was my favorite thing about McDonald's. Some of those toys go for a lot of money on e-Bay. Which were your favorite? They came out with the action figures, like Superman, Batman. I was telling them I was getting them for my nephew, but I was keeping them for myself. |
