Trenton Wesson passed for 245 yards and four touchdowns as Episcopal School of Dallas held off a late charge by Fort Worth Trinity Valley to repeat as Southwest Preparatory Conference Division II champions with a 27-19 victory.
Dallas Episcopal (10-1) dominated the first half and Trinity Valley (8-3) dominated the second.
Episcopal drove 70 yards on its first possession. Wesson passed to Tyler Funk for a 40-yard score to give ESD the lead. Episcopal added a 63-yard scoring drive in the first quarter and went ahead, 14-0, on a 17-yard pass from Wesson to Tristan Wesson.
Trinity Valley answered with a 16-play, 76-yard drive in the second quarter. Andrew Willard scored from 2 yards to cut the deficit to 14-6 with 4:50 remaining in the first half.
Episcopal answered by going 63 yards in one minute, 46 seconds. Wesson passed 33 yards to Funk to give ESD a 21-6 lead with 3:04 remaining in the half.
Trinity Valley marched to the Episcopal 1-yard line with 25 seconds remaining in the first half, but was stopped inches short of the goal line on fourth down.
Trinity Valley gained 154 yards in the third quarter while Episcopal managed only 8 on four plays. Trinity Valley picked up 112 of its 193 rushing yards in the quarter.
Trinity Valley cut the deficit to 21-19 on the first play of the fourth quarter when Taylor Harrington passed 5 yards to Ben Cleveland. The 2-point conversion attempt failed.
