TOP STORIESDuncanville reassigns football coach Schreiber12:18 AM CST on Wednesday, November 14, 2007Duncanville is looking for a new head football coach following Tuesday's reassignment of Dan Schreiber. Duncanville ISD athletic director Kevin Ozee made the announcement of Schreiber's reassignment to another position within the athletic department four days after a 35-14 loss to Cedar Hill in the final game of the 2007 season. "It was time for a change," Ozee said. "Dan is a first-class football coach and friend, but sometimes the pieces of the puzzle don't come together." Schreiber's teams at Duncanville went 36-28 in six season. Duncanville failed to make the playoffs for the third straight season. Schreiber came to Duncanville as an assistant in 1996 and was a member of the staff when Duncanville won the Class 5A Division I state championship in 1998. He became head coach when health problems forced Bob Alpert to retire after the 2001 season. Ozee said he would like to have a coach in place in early January. "This job will attract a lot of interest," Ozee said. "I know it is one of the premier jobs in the state."
