Bowie (10-7) had a five-game winning streak snapped. Brian James led Colleyville Heritage with 16 points and four 3-pointers. Brandon Shaw added 13 points. Colleyville Heritage shot out to a 13-2 lead in the first four minutes, but Bowie's pressure proved bothersome. That tenacity on defense began paying off for Bowie as it took a 31-28 lead with 3:19 left in the third quarter. But Colleyville Heritage answered with a 9-2 run over the next six minutes and never trailed again. Big second-half propels Mesquite: Mesquite held Jesuit to 16 second-half points to rally to a 52-43 victory in the third-place game. Mesquite, which trailed 27-21 at halftime, was led by all-tournament selection Vertrail Vaughns, who led all scorers with 19 points (16 in the second half). It was Mesquite's third win in as many games against Jesuit this season. Mesquite beat Jesuit, 52-46, in the season opener on Nov. 11 and 63-52 on Dec. 1 at the Knights of Columbus Dallas Classic. Lake Highlands wins consolation title: Lake Highlands won back-to-back games to take the consolation championship. Lake Highlands beat McKinney, 58-52, in the semifinals and topped North Mesquite, 57-35, in the final. Lake Highlands' Alex Conwell scored 32 total points for the two games.
