What he did: Cain pitched a three-hitter over six innings Tuesday in a 6-3 win over Ennis. He had 12 strikeouts. Cain was 2-for-3 with a homer and two RBIs. On Saturday he clubbed two solo homers in a 10-2 win over Waco.

The stats: The Texas signee is hitting .419 (26-62) with 10 homers, five doubles and 28 RBIs. He has 26 career home runs. He has a 5-1 record and 1.53 ERA with 103 strikeouts in 47 innings.

Who is he? A 6-3, 225-pound senior

He said it: "My first at-bat, I hit a pretty good shot to right, and on my second at-bat the very first pitch I saw I hit out. Hitting back-to-back shots like that was the biggest highlight for me."
