Pinkston assistant John Burley has been named boys basketball coach at A. Maceo Smith.

Burley replaces Tyrone Maxey, who resigned to take over at Bryan Adams.

Burley, 45, had been an assistant at Pinkston the last two seasons. This is the first varsity head coaching job for Burley, who worked three years at Raul Quintanilla Middle School in the Dallas ISD before moving to Pinkston.
