Gali's heroics came after Brandon Jolivette's three-point play had given Centennial a 47-45 lead with eight seconds left. Elsewhere, Anthony Quinones made a 25-foot 3-pointer at the buzzer to give the Sunset boys a 61-58 win over Molina. Boys Preston Branson, TCA-Addison, guard: Scored 34 points in a 65-55 win over Fort Worth Nolan. Marshall Henderson, Hurst L.D. Bell, guard: The Utah signee scored 29 points as L.D. Bell (6-0 in 5-5A) beat Keller Fossil Ridge, 67-58. Erik Hunter, Flower Mound, forward: Scored 27 points in a 70-51 win over Lewisville. Bruce Smith, Richardson Pearce, guard: Had 26 points and 14 rebounds in a 67-36 win over Carrollton R.L. Turner. Shawn Williams, Duncanville, wing: Scored 17 points and won it with two free throws with 42 seconds left as Duncanville, ranked No. 2 in the 5A area, beat No. 9 Irving, 46-45. Girls Farrin Bell, Richardson, forward: The freshman scored 25 points in a 54-44 win over Richardson Berkner. Jacqueline Jeffcoat, Plano West, forward: The daughter of former Cowboys defensive end Jim Jeffcoat had 18 points and 11 rebounds in a 51-42 win over Wylie. Shauntal Nobles, Justin Northwest, center: The Texas Tech signee had 21 points in a 38-30 win vs. Euless Trinity. Hailie Sample, Flower Mound Marcus, forward: Had 17 points and 11 rebounds in a 65-41 win vs. SL Carroll. Alexia Standish, Colleyville Heritage, guard: Had 21 points and eight assists as Colleyville Heritage (8-0 5-5A) beat Keller, 63-44. Ponder's streak ends: The Ponder boys had their 51-game winning streak end with a 63-61 loss to Krum. 40 isn't enough: Abilene Christian signee Emily Miller scored 40 points for Fort Worth Southwest Christian on Tuesday. But it wasn't enough, as Argyle Liberty Christian won, 72-62. No. 1 Seguin rallies: The Arlington Seguin girls are ranked No. 1 in the state in 4A, but they had to rally in the fourth quarter to beat Stephenville, 59-54. Seguin (26-4, 8-0 District 8-4A) trailed, 41-39, entering the fourth quarter. Amber Doolittle had 20 points and 12 rebounds for Seguin. Fit to be tied in 9-5A: The Lake Highlands boys moved into a tie for first with Carrollton Creekview in District 9-5A by beating Creekview, 66-51. Ricky Zorn, the football team's star quarterback, scored a game-high 18 points for Lake Highlands. 36: Points scored by Rockwall's Peyton Adamson in a 65-53 win vs. Royse City in a battle of the top two girls teams in 10-4A. She made six 3-pointers. 34: Points scored by Kyle Sandlin for the Rockwall boys in a 55-30 win over Royse City. He made six 3-pointers and was 11-of-14 from the field. 15: Points scored in the fourth quarter by Frisco Centennial's Brittany Barton in a 60-48 win over McKinney North. She finished with 26 points. Girls Starr Crawford, Mansfield Summit: The TCU signee scored 26 points to lead Mansfield Summit to a 53-50 win over Arlington Martin. Summit (22-4 overall), the state's seventh-ranked 5A team, is 7-0 in District 4-5A. Boys G.J. Vilarino, McKinney: The Kentucky signee scored 20 points and was 9-of-10 from the free throw line in a 63-60 win over Frisco Wakeland. McKinney improved to 5-1 in District 9-4A and remained alone in first place. |
