The freshman won the women's individual title at Saturday's NCAA Division III South/Southeast Regional in Seguin, Texas, running six kilometers (3.7 miles) in 21 minutes, 55.3 seconds.

State cross country notebook: Poteet second to one
As cross country runners arrived for Saturday's UIL state meet, so did windy and cool weather. Teams from the greater Houston area weathered the conditions and dominated the competition at Old Settlers Park.

Cross country spotlight: C.J. Brown, Southlake Carroll, Sr.
Brown placed second at the Class 5A Region I meet with a time of 15 minutes, 13.13 seconds and qualified for Saturday's state meet at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.

Flower Mound Marcus sophomore eyes perfect finish to cross country season
Flower Mound Marcus sophomore Craig Lutz has won all nine of his races this season. A victory at Saturday's Class 5A state meet would cap his perfect season.

Cross country: Midlothian runner takes Class 4A Region II title in stride
Carly Kitts, Midlothian's happy-go-lucky sophomore star, shrugged when asked about winning the biggest race of her high school career.
Greenhill runners sweep SPC cross country individual titles
Greenhill sophomore Chelsey Sveinsson repeated as SPC cross country champion, winning by 44 seconds. Sveinsson beat her time from last year by eight seconds, running two miles in 11 minutes, 17 seconds.
