Gray (6-0, 189), ranked No. 4 in the area and No. 11 in the state, said he was orally committed to Texas A&M. Gray picked the Aggies over Louisville, Notre Dame and Florida. Gray, who visited Texas A&M this weekend, said coach Mike Sherman has had an impact. "He had a lot in such a little time," Gray said. "I could tell he's a person I can trust. He's a person who can get the program back on track." Oral commitments are nonbinding. The first day a recruit can sign a national letter of intent is Feb. 6. DeSoto athlete Adrian Bushell (5-11, 180), No. 8 in the area and No. 19 in the state, was supposed to announce on the same broadcast but said Sunday night he will announce his commitment at a later date. ■ South Garland twins pick Nebraska: Courtney and Steven Osborne told recruiters all along that they were a package deal. So it was no surprise Sunday when the South Garland twins orally committed to Nebraska. "Twins have to stick together," said Courtney Osborne, a 6-3, 175-pound athlete who is being recruited as a strong safety. Steven Osborne (6-4, 190), who is being recruited as a receiver, said it would have been weird not to go to college with his brother. The Osborne twins picked Nebraska over Kansas and UNLV. Steven is No. 49 on SportsDay's Area Top 100; Courtney is No. 50. ■ Briefly: Austin LBJ outside linebacker LB Ricky Cavanaugh (6-2, 215) said he committed to Texas A&M, giving the Aggies their 27th commitment. ... Kilgore College WR T.J. Scranton (5-11, 180) said he committed to Baylor. |
