Minnesota closing in on Skyline LB Reeves

Skyline linebacker Spencer Reeves, No. 18 on SportsDay's Area Top 100, is close to making an oral commitment to Minnesota.

Reeves (6-1, 193) told Rivals.com that he almost committed to the Gophers after a visit to Minnesota last weekend, but he wants to take one more visit to another school. He has not said where.

Celina safety D'Anton Lynn, No. 15 on SportsDay's Area Top 100, is drawing the interest of Oklahoma.

Lynn already has offers from Penn State, Southern Cal and Florida. But the Sooners have gotten more involved with Lynn since the shooting death of recruit Herman Mitchell from Spring Westfield.

Wylie senior RB Christopher Givens is out for the season with an ACL injury, but he is still expected to make a commitment. Givens, No. 62 on SportDay's Area Top 100, has offers from Wake Forest, Wisconsin, North Texas, UNLV and Utah.

Wake Forest told Givens that its offer still stands.
