Hockey NewsPlano, Jesuit reach state hockey title game11:54 PM CDT on Saturday, April 12, 2008Eric Elfenbein scored with 3:21 left in the third period to give Plano a 1-0 win over Flower Mound on Saturday in a semifinal at the Texas Amateur Hockey Association's Texas Cup state tournament in Sugar Land. UIL Soccer Championships Hockey Goalie Tim Franda made 18 saves and posted his second consecutive shutout in the tournament for Plano (18-7-2), which will play Jesuit (21-5-2) in the state championship game at 12:30 p.m. today at Sugar Land Ice & Sports Center. Ryan Mack had three goals and two assists, and Garth Derry had two goals and one assist to help Jesuit beat The Woodlands College Park, 6-3, in the other semifinal. Plano and Jesuit have already played twice this season, with each team winning once. Plano West scored four goals in the third period and beat Round Rock ISD, 7-4, in a consolation game. Hasheen Lad had three goals and two assists for Plano West.
