Greenhill freshman Chelsey Sveinsson dominated the girls cross country race at the Southwest Preparatory Conference Championships on Friday at Norbuck Park, winning by 47 seconds. Sveinsson ran two miles in 11 minutes, 25 seconds.
St. Mark's senior Carlos Bencomo captured the boys cross country title, running the three-mile race in 15:58 and winning by 10 seconds. St. Mark's had five runners finish in the top 16 and won the team title by 51 points.
Episcopal School of Dallas won its first SPC girls volleyball title, beating Houston St. John's, 25-20, 15-25, 17-25, 25-20, 15-11, in the Division I final. Adrienne Gehan had 23 kills for ESD (25-8), Margaux Foxworth had 40 assists, and Jackie Wheeler had 25 digs.
Hockaday won its first SPC field hockey title, beating Tulsa Holland Hall, 2-0, in the Division I final. Taylor Thornton and Caroline Smith scored for Hockaday.
Fort Worth Trinity Valley won the boys volleyball championship, beating Greenhill, 26-24, 25-16, 27-25.
