Allen, No. 8 in the Associated Press state poll, opened the second half with a 74-yard drive capped by a 14-yard touchdown pass from Matt Brown to Bradlee Waddell to take a 14-7 lead. An interception by Mitch Hartshorne set up a 4-yard touchdown pass from Brown to Dakarai Pecikonis with 2:24 left in the third quarter.

Brown passed for 166 yards – 128 in the second half. Longview, No. 8 in the 4A state poll, lost its third consecutive season opener. Longview quarterback Aaron Johnson had 166 yards of total offense.
