All season long, Cedar Hill had thrived in the second half. But here was Flower Mound Marcus, early in the third quarter of its 41-17 loss Saturday at Cowboys Stadium, marching to tie the score after Brode Boyd darted 24 yards on a well-conceived fake punt.

Flower Mound Marcus rolled up 321 rushing yards, and the defense helped Marcus pull away in the second half in a 48-18 win over Grapevine in a Class 5A Division II bi-district playoff game Saturday at Cowboys Stadium.

In Abilene, Micah Nolan had 17 kills and 11 digs as Amarillo (46-3) continued its quest for a fourth consecutive Class 5A state title by sweeping Flower Mound Marcus (30-16) in the Region I championship match.
