Tulsa signee Caitlin Everett went 3-for-4 and scored two runs, and Ashley McCarroll was 2-for-3 with three RBIs as Forney beat Frisco Wakeland, 5-1, on Friday to complete a two-game sweep of a best-of-3 Class 4A Region II semifinal series.
Forney (35-6), the state's fifth-ranked 4A team, extended its winning streak to 30 games. M'Lynn Tillery earned the win for Forney, allowing one run in 61/3 innings, and Shelby Brogdon had two RBIs.
Wakeland took a 1-0 lead with a run in the top of the first. But Forney quickly answered with two runs in the bottom of the first, then added three runs in the fifth.
