After his team gave up 239 yards and five touchdowns to Whitehouse quarterback Brady Attaway, Forney head coach Kevin Rush is taking a different approach to prepare for Frisco Centennial quarterback Ryan Mossakowski and the spread offense.
"They use a lot more Texas Tech stuff than Whitehouse," Rush said. "So we're going to kind of see what everyone does against Texas Tech."
Rush said he hasn't forgotten what Mossakowski did against Forney last season, completing 33 of 50 passes for 242 yards in a 23-9 Forney victory. He said blown coverages and an effective pump fake accounted for three of Whitehouse's touchdowns, and hopes the secondary will improve.
"Hopefully, we do a little better than SMU," Rush laughed, referring to SMU's 49-9 loss to Texas Tech on Monday.
