Just when Garland (0-4, 0-1 10-5A) got a key player back, it may have lost another.
Last week's 45-14 district loss to Rockwall marked the return of senior running back Jacques Caldwell. Caldwell, who had not played this season because of a knee injury, rushed four times for 19 yards and caught three passes for 21 yards.
"His conditioning is not quite where it was supposed to be because he couldn't do cardio with the injury," coach Jeff Jordan said. "He's not 100 percent yet, but he definitely helped out a lot."
Garland defensive end Chancey Aghayere will not play tonight against Sachse (2-2, 0-1). He left last week's game in the third quarter with an apparent leg injury, something Jordan attributed to dehydration and cramps.
