BURLESON - Nine Burleson ballcarriers amassed 368 yards rushing en route to a 34-14 win over Hurst L.D. Bell at Elk Stadium on Saturday.
Blake Smith rushed for 107 yards and two touchdowns, and Theo Hollars added 116 yards and one touchdown for Burleson (3-0).
Elks quarterback Brice Warren completed all four of his pass attempts for 95 yards and a touchdown, a 53-yarder to Corey Bailey. Warren also rushed for a touchdown.
Bell (0-2) was led by running back Kenneth Farrow's 78 yards rushing and a touchdown. Blue Raiders quarterback James Mauro completed 9-of-15 for 103 yards, and backup quarterback Mitchell Dominiec was 4-of-5 for 53 yards.
Running back Joe Dean Shipp accounted for Bell's final score on a 13-yard run late in the fourth quarter after Burleson built a 34-7 advantage.
Burleson led 20-0 before Bell scored on Farrow's 5-yard touchdown run. Touchdown runs of 1 and 4 yards from Smith and Warren stretched Burleson's lead to 27.
