GRAND PRAIRIE – Lineman Torland Johnson blocked an extra point attempt with 35 seconds remaining, allowing Hurst L. D. Bell to hold off Grand Prairie at the Gopher-Warrior Bowl.
Grand Prairie (0-3) pulled within a point on a 17-yard touchdown pass from Tommy Alvarez to Devante Lacy. The extra point snap was bobbled.
Bell (1-2) was led by junior running back Kenneth Farrow's 114 yards and two touchdowns.
Bell quarterback James Mauro threw for 204 yards and two touchdowns. His favorite target was Kenny Muwanguzi, who caught 7 passes for 151 yards and a touchdown.
Grand Prairie never led but fought back from behind three times to tie the score. Lacy led Grand Prairie with 10 catches for 126 yards.
