BEDFORD — Lehi Tonga passed for three touchdowns and rushed for two to lead Hurst L.D. Bell past Grapevine at Pennington Field.
Tonga passed for 235 yards, 142 going to Cameron Duvall. Tonga also rushed for 81 yards on 12 carries.
After a slow start, Bell (5-0,2-0) scored twice in the final five minutes of the first half. Tonga scrambled for a touchdown that gave Bell the lead for good, then threw a 13-yard pass to Josh Mauro with 22 seconds left in the half.
Grapevine quarterback Reed Ryan threw for 230 yards and two touchdowns, both to Christian Ballard, who had 131 receiving yards. Grapevine fell to 0-5,0-2.
